Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a cornerstone of Chinese Medicine, and a tradition that has spanned millennia. Just as useful in the modern world as it was thousands of years ago, acupuncture uses tiny filiform needles to stimulate points and meridians in the body to harmonize, expel harmful influences, and help to bring you back into alignment with your true nature. People experience relief from a wide variety of conditions from acupuncture, including, but not limited to: pain, insomnia, digestive problems, menstrual issues, stress, and mental health concerns.
Tui Na Massage & Cupping
Tui Na (twee-nah) is a massage practice that works with ancient principles from Chinese healing traditions. Acupressure is a part of Tui Na, making it a great option for people who would like the benefit of acupuncture without the needles.
Cupping Therapy is a great addition or stand-alone treatment using fire-warmed glass cups to create suction, lift the fascia, and expel harmful influences from the body.
Homeopathy
Using natural remedies, Homeopathy sends a gentle communication to the body + mind to accelerate healing. Not by suppressing symptoms, but by moving vital energy to recreate balance on all four levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It’s distinct from mainstream medicine, with different understandings about the nature of health and illness, and encompasses a comprehensive set of principles and methods based on accurate observations about the healing process.

Karin Beviere, R.TCM.P, Homeopath
ACUPUNCTURE, HOMEOPATHY, CUPPING, TCM HERBAL MEDICINE
I’m a Registered Acupuncturist, Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Classical Homeopath focused on women’s health needs and I love to empower people on caring for themselves and their family effectively with natural remedies and wisdom.
Uniquely trained over the span of two decades with a four year professional degree in Homeopathic Medicine, as well as a five year Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine, my intent is to bring the best of traditional and modern energetic therapies to help people empower and heal themselves in alignment with nature. I’ve successfully treated hormonal imbalances, autoimmune conditions, degenerative disease, digestive issues, insomnia, anxiety and depression, mothers to-be, injuries and chronic pain.
My practices are located at The Heart TCM Clinic, on Salt Spring Island, BC and at Victoria Community Acupuncture and Spa on Vancouver Island, using Acupuncture, East Asian herbs, cupping, homeopathics and lifestyle rituals to gently nudge the body towards a greater expression of health.
I also offer online consults using Homeopathic Medicine, Biochemic tissue salts, Gemmotherapy (plant stem cell tinctures) and Traditional Chinese Herbal solutions to support a holistic approach to greater vitality.
I have practiced and taught classes in natural medicine since 2004, standing on the shoulders of incredible teachers: Murray Feldman RSHom, Laurie Dack RSHom, Susan Gimbel RSHom, Kim Boutillier RSHom, Dr. Lianne South ND, Karen Allen, RSHom, Dr. Sunil Anand, Dr. Hu R.AC, Dr. Ganglin Yin Dr. TCM and Liz Forrest, Toltec Shamanism Teacher. I am so grateful for their ability to impart teachings on the wisdom of the body that can be nudged towards health by remedies, needles and awareness.
Some of my biggest joys are being the proud mother of a 20 year old daughter, splitting my time between city and country life, and more recently, branching out my love of nature by learning the ways of the sea and sailing with my family.

ACUPUNCTURE, TUI NA, CUPPING, HERBAL MEDICINE (TCM, WESTERN)
I am a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner focused on hands-on and holistic approaches to treating illness and pain, including the emotional and mental health effects of our embodied experiences. I use Acupuncture, Tui Na Massage, Cupping Therapy, and dietary and lifestyle suggestions to help restore the flow of Qi, eliminate pain, and harmonize the emotions.
My deepest intention: to hold space for each person to connect with and carry forward their unique blueprint. In Chinese Medicine, this is referred to as ming, and is loosely translated as destiny.
My Chinese Medicine education began with the completion of four years of study and clinical practice at Oshio College of Acupuncture & Herbology, under the supervision of Dr. Ganglin Yin, Dr. TCM. I am also grateful to have additional training in Tui Na massage with Sarah Pritchard, Lic.Ac, Clin Cert Tui na. My roots in traditional medicines started with my extensive studies in Western Herbalism. I studied for two years with Seraphina Capranos, and have attended many hours of herbal workshops and lectures, and pursued over 20 years of self-directed study in herbal medicine.
I’ve been lucky to call Salt Spring Island home for six years now—I moved here from the Comox Valley where I spent 10 years running an organic farm operation and participating in a farming cooperative. My background is in agriculture, community organizing, graphic design, and outdoor education. I completed my B.A. in Indigenous Environmental Studies in the early 2000’s at Trent University in Peterborough, ON. Today, I am profoundly grateful to live as a guest in these beautiful territories of the Hul’qumi’num and SENĆOŦEN speaking peoples, also known as Salt Spring Island.
I bring all of these varied experiences to clinic: observing the cycles of nature, caring for people in my community, and offering skilled guidance from the heart. I hold a passionate belief in the power of Chinese Medicine—in my practice I see people finding their way through life transitions, chronic pain, acute health challenges, long term illnesses, and more.
As a practitioner of this ancient medicine, I am here to listen to the language of Qi, to help to create release and movement where there is stagnation, and to invite possibility for more joy in being alive.
